It’s something I wrote for Oracle Scene, the magazine of the UK Oracle User Group in April 2007. but since it wasn’t published until November 2007, I’ve kept it off the website. The point the article makes is that you usually need to understand what you’re looking at, and the job you are doing with it, before you can decide the most efficient strategy for processing your data.
