Oracle Database 11.2.0.4 left Extended Support on December 31, 2020. If a customer needs additional time to complete the upgrade to Oracle Database 19c, we are offering 2 years of Severity 1 patching which will include one-offs, PSUs, and Security fixes.
When Extended Support ends for Database 11g Release 2, what support options are available?

What is Market Driven Support?
- Oracle has setup Market Driven Support to provide extra assistance to those customers still in the process of moving off 11.2.0.4. This is an Advanced Customer Support (ACS) offering to assist customers in moving to Oracle Database 19c which is the current long-term release. This support offering is limited to Oracle Database 11.2.0.4 and coverage does not extend to new certifications, third-party products, or any Java/JDK functionality including Java components embedded in the database. No updates related to cryptography and network encryption will be supported during this timeframe. See the data sheet for more details.

How will Oracle Support know that a customer has been purchased Market Driven Support?
- Each customer who has finalized the MDS paperwork will have Tier 1 entitlement. Only customers who have signed up for MDS will be allowed to request and download 11.2.0.4 patches created during the MDS window (Jan 1, 2021- Dec 31, 2023).

What type of patches will be created during MDS?
- During MDS, Oracle will create PSUs and Security fixes if there is new content that meets the criteria. The PSU will be released around the same quarterly time frame as our Premier Support Oracle Proactive Patches. Please note, these patches are not guaranteed to be released on the same Tuesday as the proactive quarterly patches.
- There will not be a separate SPU for DB 11.2 during MDS period. Security fixes will be included in PSU as needed.
A COMBO patch using prior OJVM patches released for Oct2020 will be created.

What are common reasons why an MDS customer cannot download a patch?
- The Database CSI must include Tier 1 patch download entitlement (T1).

- 11.2.0.4 Quarterly patches are listed here: Database 11.2.0.4 Proactive Patch Information (Doc ID 2285559.1). To download, you will need Tier 1 Entitlement in MOS.
11. Is Database 11.2.0.4 impacted by Apache log4j vulnerabilities?
