EMC SMI-S Provider
The solution leverages the EMC SMI-S Provider that needs to be installed on a
Windows or Linux system. The following procedure explains in details how to get,
install and con$gure EMC SMI-S Provider to enable EMC Disk Arrays KM for
PATROL to e+ciently interact with it.
To monitor Symmetrix disk arrays it is strongly recommended that the SMI-S provider
pre-installed in the Management Console is used.
1. Installing the SMI-S Provider
1.Access the EMC’s Powerlink website: https://powerlink.emc.com/
2.Log in with the User ID and Password provided by EMC’s Powerlink. If you do
not have an account, you can register directly on EMC’s Powerlink website.
3.Click the Support tab, and then click Software Downloads and Licensing
> Downloads S > SMI-S Provider
4.Select the SMI-S Provider latest version and select the relevant executable

Sentry Software recommends installing the latest version
available.

5.Launch the executable $le (se7114-WINDOWS-x86-SMI.exe in our example).
The EMC Solutions Enabler with SMI X86 welcome page appears prompting you
to install Solutions Enabler with SMI version x.x.x.
6.Click Next.
